Washington, August 17: US President Donald Trump has welcomed the joint defence agreement signed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, describing it as a significant step towards greater cooperation in the Middle East.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said he was “very happy” over the signing of the Makkah Agreement by the three countries.
Trump said the agreement demonstrates how countries in the region are coming together and becoming more capable of defending themselves in a more meaningful way.
Congratulating the leaders of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, the US President described the development as a “big, bold and important first step.
”The agreement marks a significant development in regional defence cooperation and could have wider implications for the evolving security landscape in the Middle East.
